Mark Hatch
Hatch College Advising
For nearly four decades, Mark served in leadership positions at two prep schools and four selective colleges. He was the Director of College Counseling at the Marlborough School (Los Angeles) and spent 23 years as the Vice President for Enrollment at Colorado College. He is the past president of the Common Application Board.
Mark has guided more than 300 students through the college search process and has read/evaluated approximately 25,000 applications at four highly selective institutions. He works closely with his wife, Anne, who is a college and graduate school essay coach with nearly 30 years of experience as an English teacher and writing instructor. Mark has been recognized with regional and national awards for his commitment to serving students and the admission profession. In 2024, he earned the Gayle C. Wilson Outstanding Service to the Profession Award and the Roger H. Campbell Award.
Mark was a three-time NCAA All-American in college and has overseen the athletic evaluation process at both Division I and Division III colleges. In addition to spending time with family, he currently enjoys trail running and plays recreational ice hockey.
