Katie launched KAR Consulting after leading college counseling programs in private schools for three decades. Her college admissions career began at her alma mater, Occidental College in Los Angeles, where Katie discovered that she loves working with young people during the exciting time of transition from high school to college. Next, she spent 10 years at Cate School in Carpinteria, California and 24 years at Charles Wright Academy in Tacoma, Washington. During that time she guided over 900 students and their families through the college admissions process. Katie has worked with athletes, artists, musicians, students with learning and mental health challenges, academic superstars, and students with a wide range of interests and goals. Katie understand teenagers, and enjoys connecting with them.
