Chris Teare has worked as a college counselor, university admissions officer, and independent educational consultant in the United States, Europe, and the US Virgin Islands for more than 30 years. For more than a decade, he was also a school administrator, overseeing college counseling; as a journalist, he has written and broadcast about the college process. He served on the Founding Executive Committee for the Association of College Counselors in Independent Schools (ACCIS). He is a Certified Educational Planner, a Professional Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), and a member of the Southern Association for College Admissions Counseling (SACAC), the Fiske College Guide Editorial Advisory Group and the Princeton Review National College Counselor Advisory Board.​

Best advice: Know Thyself. Find colleges that will love you for who YOU are. I wish I had known to talk more with professors outside of class.
