Alison Almasian
Alison Almasian College Counseling Consulting

Alison is a seasoned professional bringing over 30 years of college admissions experience. A graduate of Georgetown University, she worked 22 years as an admissions leader at St. Lawrence University, and then served for 10 years as the director of college counseling at the Taft School, her alma mater. In both positions, Alison has served on leadership teams for her institutions and has been an active member of our state and national professional organizations.

Alison is committed to serving students and their families as they navigate the selective admissions process. She embraces a student-centered approach encouraging students to own their process in an authentic way. The college process is a rite of passage, a chance for students to understand who they are and what they are seeking. That journey allows students to more effectively present themselves in their applications and, ultimately, make the best enrollment decision for them.

Advice: I wish I understood the power of finding academic mentors. Go to office hours even if you don't have a specific question. Professors want to help and are happy to advise.
